| Designed by a nursing mother, the Bravado nursing/maternity bra has three specific features which make it unique it in the market. A super-soft fabric made of 92% cotton and 8% lycra. The lycra component gives the fabric stretch and memory-the bra will comfortably expand as a mother's breasts fill with milk, but will contract again after a feeding. This does not happen with 100% cotton bras, which cannot shrink back in size (unless they are washed).
A wide sports back and under-elastic that stretches considerably while staying snugly in place, without becoming tight or binding. Finally a broad range of colours and creative styling celebrate the beauty and pride which all mothers share. How does the sizing work? The Bravado designs nursing/maternity bra has four sizes (S - M - L - XL) and three cup ranges, basic, plus + and double plus ++ (please see sketches of different styles). The sizes refer to a mother's rib width and are based on a conventional bra sizing chart, whereas the cup range refers to cup size. For example, all the small bras have the same rib measurement whether they are a S, S+ or S++ only the cup size differs. The same holds true for the M, L, and XL sizes.   
Bras can be exchanged or returned provided they are done so in their original packing and have only been tried on and not worn or washed. How to buy Bravado nursing/maternity Bras During pregnancy, a woman will generally increase at least one full cup size (e.g. from a B to a C cup) and at least one rib size (e.g. from a 34 to a 36). For example, a mother who is 34 B pre-pregnancy will likely be at least a 36 C by the end of her pregnancy. Most women can expect one last cup size increase immediately post-partum, when the milk comes in (i.e. from a prenatal C cup to a post-partum D cup) Often, after 10 - 12 weeks nursing, women will return to their prenatal bra size i.e. C cup. There are no absolutes! Every woman will experience different degrees of change. The above, however, is a good rule of thumb. The S range is for people who before being pregnant were 32 or 34 chest, which allows them to increase up to 36 chest comfortably during pregnancy. The M range bras are for women who normally are 36 or 38 inches round the chest, the L range is for women who are normally 38 - 40 inches round the chest and the XL range is for women who start at 42 inches. If someone is buying very early in pregnancy then fit as suggested above, allowing the cup to be comfortable. If, however, you are already half way or more through your pregnancy you would need to check your size. A lot of women start to buy a maternity bra at this point because this is when they find their normal bras getting too small. Finally, you should check the fit of the bra at 37 weeks pregnant. From this point the cup can be estimated for breast feeding (i.e. one cup size larger), and the bra should be comfortable but can also allow for the ribs to go down again a few weeks after the birth (the ribs, NOT the cup - this only goes down more gradually about 12 weeks after the birth). For many women the same bra will fit for breastfeeding as for the last part of pregnancy, but some women do grow much bigger in the cup even in the last few weeks of pregnancy and may need a larger bra for the initial breastfeeding months. The Bravado bra is designed for flexibility and versatility in sizing. A woman's breasts fluctuate and change in size throughout the course of her pregnancy and while nursing (even throughout the same day, as milk is produced and the baby is fed). Her bra, therefore, should change with her to be comfortable and supportive all day long. Bravado's flexible size system means that a woman can fluctuate between at least 2 cup and rib sizes and still wear the same bra comfortably. This is not possible with conventional bra sizes. Most women will need to purchase new bras during pregnancy as their breasts and rib cages expand. The Bravado bra makes an ideal maternity bra. It can be purchased early in the pregnancy and grow with the woman, providing comfort and support especially during the later stages of pregnancy. The snaps lie flat and are invisible even under form-fitting clothing and yes after three or four practice runs, a mother will be able to undo and refasten the snap with one hand and still hold onto the baby with the other. If a woman is to remain properly supported throughout all of her pregnancy and nursing, she will not be able to use the same Bravado bra purchased for maternity, as during the first 10-12 weeks of nursing. However, that maternity bra will become a nursing bra after the first 2-3 months of breastfeeding, when her breasts decrease in size. A Bravado bra purchased for maternity will therefore never go to waste. For this purpose we give you a discount on purchasing two bras. Individually, they cost £25.00 each but for two you pay £47.50 and you can mix sizes and colours. Washing Instructions Machine or hand wash, use regular detergent, warm water, and hang to dry. No bleach, pure soap or fabric softener. Lycra is a delicate fabric and overheating it can cause the fibres to break. Hanging your bra to dry will prolong its life and support. Bravado Breast Pads Keep a few points in mind. Make sure there is enough room for breast pads in the cup. Nursing breasts are very heavy breasts. Be generous with sizing. The Bravado breast pad is an innovative, absorbent terry-cloth pad with stay dry properties. The following features are included for your comfort. An inner layer made of Cool Max. This is a fabric that was designed for athletic wear and is specifically designed to move moisture away from the skin. This helps promote air circulation and keep the sensitive nipple area dry. A half moon of white terry-cloth between the inner layer and the outer layer. This half moon sits under the nipple to provide extra absorbency and there is no unnecessary bulk in the top half of the pad. An outer layer of absorbent, cream coloured terry-cloth with a unique dart. The dart helps ensure a form-fitting shape for discretion under clothing. Fully machine washable and dryable in their own mesh laundry bag. For those times when extra protection is needed (e.g. overnight), we have created the Bravado Doubler. This is a two layer terry-cloth pad that compliments any other breast pad that you have. Simply layer it on the outside of your breast pad for extra absorbency and discretion.
